- Competitors must be Current Itosu-ryu members
- Dan holders must have a Dan Certificate issued by Soke Sadaaki Sakagami
- Competitors cannot serve as Referees in the tournament
- Entry fee
- USD40 per competitor (includes lunch)
Entry fee covers multiple categories, i.e., individual and team kumite, and kata - Referees

- Kumite Referees will be designated by the Tournament Secretariat.
- Kata Judges will be Itosu-Ryu Practitioners from various Countries who hold International or JKF Kata Judge Accreditation and those designated by the Tournament Secretariat.
- Referees cannot be Competitors in the tournament
- Uniforms will adhere to IKIF/JKF / WKF regulations
- Japanese Officials and Itosu-Ryu Referees must wear the Itosu-kai emblem.

The competition will be according to WKF Kumite Rules ( Modified ) and Kata Rules will be (points system) regulations.
- Team kumite - tournament style (no repechage)
- Individual kumite - tournament style (no repechage)
- Individual kata - points system (2 rounds)
- 1) Kumite

- Children and cadets, full time 1 minute 30 seconds, 8 point lead
- Junior, senior, full time 2 minutes, 8 point lead
- 2) Kata

C1 competitors can repeat a kata in the event of the same score.
C2-C15 competitors must change their kata in the event of the same score.
Competitors can use the kata they used in the event of the same score in the first round in the final.

Only Itosu-ryu kata are permitted.
In the Final Round, contestants must choose a different kata from the Elimination Round
C2 Children (9-10) male/female mixed C3 Children (11-12) male/female mixed C4 Children (13-15) male C5 Children (13-15) female C6 Cadet (16-17) male Competitors may choose any Itosu-ryu kata
Also permitted are: WKF Shitei kata ( Bassai-dai and Seienchin only )

- Safety Measures

- Medical staff will be available to treat injuries during the competition, but competitors are responsible for their own treatment after the competition.
- All participants and members of delegations must arrange their own medical insurance and personal trip insurance. The Organizing Committee and host country are not liable for injuries, medical emergencies or accidents.
- According to International Rules, face guards and body protectors will not be used. However, children and cadets can use them at their own discretion.
